Peer Review Files

RL6:Peer Review is a flexible module that assists organizations to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of services performed. RL6:Peer Review can be used to document an investigation related to a specific event, ongoing or focused profession practice evaluations (i.e. OPPE/FPPE), or morbidity and mortality reviews. The ultimate goal is to find ways to monitor and improve the quality of medical care.

RL6:PeerReview provides four out-of-the-box forms (i.e. for standard, nursing, M&M, and event reviews) which organizations can configure according to their needs. In each form, users can choose from four types of peer reviews:

• Peer Review (1:1) – one provider is reviewed for his/her care of one patient
• Focus Review (M:1) – evaluation of several patients that a physician has treated to get the picture of his/her performance
• EventA patient or employee related occurrence which is recorded in paper or electronic format. Once recorded, an event file is reviewed by a file manager who may involve other individuals (e.g. using tasks and follow-ups features) to help investigate and resolve the event. Review (1:M) – more than one physician is reviewed by examining the treatment provided to one patient
• Other (M:M) – multiple events or situations are reviewed, e.g., evaluating five patients who complained of chest pain and the five physicians who treated them
